Initial thoughts: I searched high and low for a bouncy chair I really liked the look of – there are lots to choose from, but nothing that really grabbed my attention before this one. It struck me as bright and cheerful, looked comfortable, and had the added bonus of music and vibration. Plus, it comes in at under £30, which for a bouncer that looks good and seems fun for baby, was a bit of a rarity!

We liked: The cover – it’s a cute fabric without being either definitely for a boy or for a girl (we don’t like stereotypical baby stuff in our house!), it’s soft and padded, good quality and well put together. The safety straps are easy to adjust and there’s even a sweet frog head cushion for added comfort. The toy bar is great – it includes a cuddly turtle, a rattle, a mirror and a liquid filled frog (which will be great to pop in the fridge when a certain someone starts teething and wants something cold to chew on!) Better still, they are all easily removable, and can be replaced with any other small favourites to keep your little one interested.

The bar itself is also completely removable, making the chair perfect for a nap, watching cartoons, or having a snack as well as playing. The bouncing and gentle vibrations work a treat to settle my little man when he’s grouchy, and there are also 7 tunes to choose from – the volume of which can be controlled by mum or dad. Alternatively, you can set it to just vibrate without any sound when you want some peace and quiet!

We weren’t keen: The only downside is that it doesn’t come with batteries, and to put them in you need to track down a screwdriver to open the cover. Other than that, no complaints.

Overall: My little boy loved it from day one, and is actually sat in it as I type, happily bashing the toys and chatting to himself in the mirror. It’s a really lovely chair – comfortable and entertaining without breaking the bank.
