“Flea loved the Disney Peter Pan Outfit so much she wore it for 72 consecutive hours. I think that’s what’s known as a thumbs-up recommendation.”

Initial thoughts: The Disney Peter Pan Outfit arrives from A2Z kids extremely quickly, and nicely packaged with coat hangers for the outfit, and even one of those hotel-style hanger bags to keep the outfit clean in transit.  Flea was so excited when we opened the box, and I was pretty impressed. The costume comes with a cotton-blend tunic top and stretchy cotton trousers that incorporate boots – these are held in place over regular shoes with an elastic strap. There’s also a sash to go over your child’s shoulder, complete with a strap to hold a foam dagger. It’s available in sizes to fit from 3 years up to 10 years.

We liked: The Disney Peter Pan Outfit looks really great on, and it’s instantly recognisable as Peter Pan. Flea wore this at her school’s Book Week last week – she was the only little girl NOT dressed as a Princess, obviously, but she was so happy she refused to take it off at the end of the day. In fact, she wore it for 72 consecutive hours. I thought including the boots was a nice touch, as often kids’ shoes can slightly ruin the illusion of a dress up. The dagger has also had a LOT of use.

We weren’t keen: The ‘boots’ are really the bottom of the trousers, and they stop at floor level – then there are little straps which you fasten together underneath your child’s shoe to hold the boot in place. Two problems: Flea didn’t understand it was velcro and pulled hte straps on the first day, and they came away from the fabric. Second, once Flea realised it was a strap, she made it very clear this was part of the outfit and therefore she could not put it down on outside ground – resulting in me having to carry her between the car to the house, for three days. One other point to note– we opted for age 5-6 for the outfit, but the accompanying hat was still far too small to even fit on Flea’s (4 year old) head.

Overall: The Disney Peter Pan Outfit is a bit more expensive but something your child should get lots of use out of. Younger children will need help getting the trousers on.  Buy a size up, and you’ll get more wear – it’s easy enough to roll up the trousers around the waist if they’re too long.
