Initial thoughts: We reviewed Moxie Girl Lexa, who comes with black hair, a purple wig, a leotard, tiara, microphone and heart sunglasses. She was nicely presented in the box, but with lots of twisted wires and very hard to get out!
We liked: I totally support the ethos around the dolls, which is to promote creativity and individuality by giving girls an outlet to express themselves through play. The dolls all look like they could be members of a girl band. They are well made, even the clothing. But the big plus is that they aren’t as scary as the Bratz dolls, which quite frankly I think look really weird.
We weren’t so keen: My daughter thought it was strange that our doll, Lexa, didn’t come with any shoes. You can see her point, too.
Overall: You might think this is just another Bratz knock-off, but this is a well-made doll with great clothing and a nice ethos – and the added bonus of not the weird, scary big eyes.
