Build a Bear

I can’t fault the staff at our local Build a Bear store, they were exceptional and made the morning a really fun experience for Flea. She loves her soft toy and so does her cousin. But at £50 apiece, I don’t think she loves it enough to make this value for money. Other experienced parents have told me the way to make Build a Bear Work is to give kids a price limit before you go into the store, and then let them spend it how they choose – so it’s possible to get a bear for £9.99 and an outfit for another £10 or so. And it helps if you buy something at Build a Bear with 2 feet, rather than 4!

Initial Thoughts: It’s cute. Simple as that, and little ones can’t help but like it. It came really well packaged in a beautiful presentation box, and we enjoyed being able to attach it everywhere and anywhere! Since we have had our Sleepytot, we have seen Sleepytots everywhere – they must be the must have comforter!

We liked: The comforter is of a really high quality and so soft. My little one kept grabbing at it and then decided that she would in fact enjoy licking it so our Sleepytot has been mostly licked to death. She’s too small to be carrying it around, but I do Velcro his little paws to her pushchair so she can continue to er, um, lick it when we’re out and about! She doesn’t have a dummy but I have seen other babies have their Sleepytot’s paws attached to a dummy, which is a fab idea at least you know where the dummy is and know that it’s not being dropped on the floor.

The Baby’s Sea Shore CD came in the box which was an added bonus and is available to buy separately. We used it a few times as part of our bedtime routine as suggested but as my little one goes to bed really well, I don’t know what effect it had on her but it’s very soothing and relaxing. Oh, we also loved the little tag where you write who it belongs to and how to return it if lost. It’s all in the detail.

We weren’t keen: I have been racking my brains to think of something we don’t like about this soother, and there is nothing. Really.

Overall: A lovely, beautifully made comforter, that comes in a fabulous little gift box. Top marks from us.

  • I have to agree, Fifi has the Sleepytot comforter and uses dummies. Its fab, she can find her dummy in the cot in the night, this is a godsend. She has also started using it as a little pillow. The only problem I have is finding a moment to wash it, I think i need to buy another one..
