Build a Bear

I can’t fault the staff at our local Build a Bear store, they were exceptional and made the morning a really fun experience for Flea. She loves her soft toy and so does her cousin. But at £50 apiece, I don’t think she loves it enough to make this value for money. Other experienced parents have told me the way to make Build a Bear Work is to give kids a price limit before you go into the store, and then let them spend it how they choose – so it’s possible to get a bear for £9.99 and an outfit for another £10 or so. And it helps if you buy something at Build a Bear with 2 feet, rather than 4!

Initial Thoughts: As soon as I opened the package and saw the Vulli Teethers, I knew my little one would LOVE them. And I was right – she adores them. They’re cute, they’re lightweight (perfect for my three month old) and they squeek (which both the baby and the dog love!)

We liked: Just how cute they are. We already have a Sophie the Giraffe from the same brand which we love, and these will be just as loved. We like the reassurance that this toy is made from natural rubber (phthalate-free) so we could be sure it can be chewed it in complete safety. We love that they are easy to grasp and to grip.  There are three little characters, Chan, Pie and Gnon, each in different colours . Gnon is our current favourite (the green one), as my little one can grab the ‘loop’ on her head and toss it about, as it is so light.

We weren’t keen: The toy does get dirty very quickly, but that’s because it is made out of natural rubber so collects dust easily – but was as good as new after a soapy water wash. My little one also found this difficult to get in to her mouth, as it’s quite wide which is a bit odd for a teether.

Overall: We do absolutely love these new Chan Pie Gnon teethers from Vulli as toys and people have commented on how cool they are. They are definitely worth having,  but as teethers we prefer Sophie the Giraffe, mainly as its legs and head are a lot easier for her to get in her mouth and other than Gnon, she has difficulty holding on to them.
