Initial thoughts: “Not another doll?” was my husband’s first response when Melanie the rag doll arrived in our house, but i was actually quite pleased as she was a welcome relief to the mountain of crying plastic dolls strewn across the play room.   Melanie comes complete with pretty blond plaited pig tails, pink gingham pyjamas and a giant smile, she’s soft and very cuddly.

We Liked: Melanie bears a striking resemblance to my daughter Sofia and she instantly claimed Melanie as her own, making the rag doll her new best friend.  Melanie is a beautifully made doll and a great size, not too small but easy enough to fit underneath Sofia’s arm whether she is carrying her up to bed or around the supermarket.  Sofia likes the fact Melanie’s pyjamas are removable and has lots of fun dressing and undressing her, she even uses her other dolls outfits to dress Melanie up differently.

We weren’t so keen: There is not much to dislike about this well made, pretty and cuddly rag doll, the only negative I can find is that at £12.00 there are other similar rag dolls on the market priced more competitively.

Overall: This is a beautifully-designed rag doll and has the potential to become your little girl’s new best friend for many years to come.
