Build a Bear

I can’t fault the staff at our local Build a Bear store, they were exceptional and made the morning a really fun experience for Flea. She loves her soft toy and so does her cousin. But at £50 apiece, I don’t think she loves it enough to make this value for money. Other experienced parents have told me the way to make Build a Bear Work is to give kids a price limit before you go into the store, and then let them spend it how they choose – so it’s possible to get a bear for £9.99 and an outfit for another £10 or so. And it helps if you buy something at Build a Bear with 2 feet, rather than 4!

Initial thoughts: Power Rangers used to be my favourite TV show when I was 4 and I collected a lot of the figures and the Megazords. I have always wanted a Walkie Talkie so put them together and you have something that I was so excited to get out of the packet especially since they looked so cool.

My sisters tried to grab them off me but I was having none of it.

We liked: Our house has three floors. Our den is on the top floor and I like to spend time in there playing with my lego and watching television. The problem is that I can’t hear when my dad shouts me to come down for my dinner and he says that if I don’t hear him I will miss it and that is really bad because I love food.

The first thing me and Dad did after putting the batteries in was to go to our den and see if the walkie talkie worked. To our amazement it did and I could hear my dad clearly and speak back to him. They were such fun. Me and my sisters played hide and seek using them and of course I was the best hider although we lost Betty for 15 minutes.

We weren’t keen on: We didn’t like the way we had to find the person with the other walkie talkie to tell them to switch it on. There was also no batteries with it and they take those rectangular batteries that none of my other toys take. Luckily dad had 2 of these in the drawer or we would have had to go to the shops which would have been annoying when you just want to get it out and play with it.

Overall: It was really fun playing with the Power Rangers Jungle Fury walkie talkies. I think I will definitely use them again, especially if I want to get fed. Apart from the batteries it was great. Everyone wants a go, even Mum.
