Dino PuppetInitial thoughts: We’re all for junk modelling in this house and this eco Dino Puppet house is like a nicely-packaged version of that – without all the bits of loo roll holder and tin foil clogging up the house. It comes in a lovely cylindrical box and looks very bright and inviting.

We liked: My 4 year old ripped open the packaging and was off like a shot when she saw this, she was so excited to start building. The pieces are all bits of card and string which you need to glue and thread together to make your puppet and then paint to your chosen design. All the items you need to make your puppet are right there in the box.

We weren’t keen on: Despite being for ages 4 plus, even I struggled slightly with glueing this together. Some parts don’t sit together snuggly and so glueing was a challenge and one which meant a lot of waiting which didn’t go down well!

Also, considering this was an ‘eco’ and everything from the store has been chosen because it ‘helps the planet’, I was a bit disappointed to find the parts and the paint all come in plastic bags.

Overall impression: I liked the fact that the Dino puppet’s pieces are made from recycled paper and card and it’s a lovely little gift to buy someone. Not sure I would buy it otherwise though as we could probably get just as much fun out of creating our own from bits from our recycle box – and that’s costs nothing!
