Royal Quoits setInitial thoughts: The Jaques of London Original Royal Quoits are made from solid wood and are very sturdy and easy to screw together, this is a real no prepare game, you can start playing within two minutes of taking it all out of the box.  It is such a simple concept – throw your rope quoits over the base and if it lands on a stick you get the relevant points.

We Liked:The quoits are really well made, very sturdy and easy to assemble.  The rope quoits are simple to throw and work well for both children and adults alike.  It is a really adaptable too, we have enjoyed playing it in teams as a family, but the boys have also gone back to it time and time again.  They enjoy keeping score and adding up.

We Weren’t Keen: Initially I was surprised at the price – £29 seems expensive for a garden game – but it is very well made and will last a lifetime if looked after.

Overall: The Royal Quoits set from Aspace is an engaging and educational (if you make the children keep score) game, whose appeal crossed all the age rages from 3 years to 66 years.  Its simplicity is part of its appeal and it is totally engrossing.  We keep coming back to this and have had great fun in the good weather with it.  We are planning to take it camping with us. Thoroughly recommended.
