Disney Princess Role Play Tent

The Disney Princess Role Play Tent took me 50 minutes to assemble. Is it just me who thinks a pop up tent shouldn’t ever take that long?

I expected the material to be nylon and was afraid that I would rip the material when assembling the Disney Princess Role Play Tent. My 2 year old daughter, Ella, was initially quite interested in the tent, however, so I obliged her by wrestling with the tent for nearly an hour.

We Liked: The main portion of the Disney Princess Role Play Tent is quite tall with its pointed tent roof which allows Ella to stand up fully and not have to crouch. The main tent is quite spacious as well and accommodated several of Ella’s stuffed toys and dolls to join in on the fun.

We Weren’t Keen: I spent 50 minutes assembling the Disney Princess Role Play Tent. A “pop up” tent should never take that long. As the tent is made of fabric, when I was inserting the plastic rods to keep the tent vertical, I did manage to push the rods through the fabric sheaths in a couple of places. Putting a hole in my daughter’s play tent was not the best way to start the day!

I found the material attracted every dog and cat hair in the vicinity and the green “grass” area outside the tent didn’t seem necessary. Ella was quite intrigued by the Disney Princess Role Play Tent but that wore off rather quickly and the tent went unused for a few days. Due to the size of the tent, it isn’t practical to keep it up if your children aren’t playing with it. I then wrestled with the plastic rods again to disassemble the tent.

Overall: The Disney Princess Role Play Tent is pretty and girlie, but at £29.99 I thought it was rather an expensive purchase for something that my daughter only ended up having a passing interest in, and which was so easy to damage. I was very disappointed in the fabric material and found the assembly awkward and frustrating.
