tailballInitial thoughts: Everything you need to play is included in the Tailball Lite box – pole, ball, bats and instructions – but to be honest I just thought oh no not another bat and ball game! The idea of tailball is that it’s like tennis, but easier for young children – the lightweight foam ball is slower and easier to hit, especially thanks to the trailing streamers attached to the ball. To play, children hit the ball to each other, and score a point each time the ball hits the ground.

We Liked: The bats included with the tailball lite are a great size and weight for my boys, they are easy for them to hold and manipulate too, which make it easier to try and hit the tail ball.  The ball is made of foam with a trailing plastic ribbon tail (streamers), which again is light weight so doesn’t hurt if it hits you.  The tail slows the ball down, which gave the boys a better chance at hitting it once they had gotten used to the speed.

We Weren’t Keen: I have to say there wasn’t anything that we particularly didn’t like, apart from the fact it would have been nice to come with two tail balls as ours kept going in to the neighbour’s garden!

Overall: The tailball lite is a super little set ideal for learning hand eye co-ordination.  It is lightweight, portable and doesn’t take up a lot of space.  It has already been to the beach with us and tailball lite is becoming a firm outdoor favourite.
