Bruin Musical Activity Centre
Initial thoughts: We bought this when S was a baby and of all the hundreds of things we bought for our baby, this was one of the very best buys. It’s a musical centre that fits directly onto your baby’s cot, and plays lots of different songs. There’s also a mirror and lots of buttons to press. We found it invaluable for keeping little ones entertained, especially early in the morning when an extra 20 minutes in bed can’t be over-estimated! It takes 2 AA batteries, which are sold separately.
We liked: There are plenty of buttons on the Bruin Musical Activity Centre to press and music to dance to, so lots to keep our baby entertained. From a parent’s perspective, this is a really good price and we found it great for entertaining our little ones before bed, and for keeping them occupied when they woke up early. The on/off button is easily accessible through the cot bars, which is great if it’s 5.30am and you’re tired! There is also a ‘ding dong’ button which is a favourite with my two. For young babies the catapillar piano at the bottom can be kicked to make music.
We weren’t keen: To be honest, that charming ‘ding dong’ button does get annoying after a while. Apart from that, there’s nothing we didn’t like about the Bruin musical activity centre.
Overall: There are so many cot toys on the market it’s hard to know what to choose, but the Bruin musical activity centre shows you don’t necessarily have to spend a fortune. This centre is really competitively priced with lots of different sounds and activities. It’s colourful and fits easily onto the side of a cot. If you don’t want it on the cot it can be taken off and played with quite easily. A must have cot toy.
