Initial thoughts: The minute my daughter saw this brightly-coloured toy in the box her eyes lit up. It’s really robust and has a lovely finish – in fact so lovely she now uses it as an ornament in her bedroom. It’s a really quality wooden toy, but £15? Not sure if I would spend that much on it. It is rather small (it stands 19cm tall).
We liked: The rocket is really well made and just the right size for little hands to manipulate. It’s really easy to put together (the magnets are on the underside of each section) so there are no tantrums or throwing of said toy when they can’t figure it out.
Weren’t keen on: Did I mention that it’s £15? It just seems really expensive for such a small, simple toy. Also, because it’s so easy to put together, Mia got pretty bored with it after 10 minutes and proceeded to try and get it to ‘stick’ to everything else around the house. It is meant for ages 3 and above but my (just) 4 year old found it a bit too simple.
Overall: If you received this as a gift you would be delighted as it’s a lovely, chunky toy and looks great. However the price tag may put people off as spending that much on something which only gets played with a couple of times would make me weep. Lovely toy, shame about the price.
