My seven-year-old was impressed by how far the plane flew – a whole ten feet! I was impressed that she was able to do the activity without help.

Paper planes
Initial thoughts
: This kit contains brightly coloured paper with pre-printed dotted lines indicating where to fold to create a fashionable paper airplane. You can finish off the airplane with cute stickers that have various types of pilots printed on them. There are five different models to fold: ultra speed, express plus, cool trip, doudou jet, and sky mission. The kit makes around 20 planes.

We liked: The planes are relatively easy to make and very attractive. My 7-year-old was impressed at how far the ultra speed airplane flew in the house (a good ten feet!). I was impressed that she could make them on her own.

We weren’t keen: The instructions are in about a million different languages, and it takes a bit of work to spot the English ones. But once my daughter figured this out, she was fine and made some beautiful planes that she flew around the house.

Overall: A thoughtful, creative activity for both boys and girls. Perfect for rainy afternoons, and it’s nice to see a craft activity that’s aimed at both boys and girls.
