Initial thoughts: This toy is bright and colourful, and noisy to boot. It has five different activity settings to keep the kids amused and interested and has the added bonus of teaching them about basic geography in a fun way.

What we liked: The globe looks sturdy, and at nearly £30 it should! It has a joystick which gives it the element of a “game” rather than “education”. We loved the ‘music of different countries’ setting, and the ‘first atlas’ setting as both were suitable for our two and half year old. She loved playing with it, and didn’t become frustrated once (a miracle!). She sat and actually played with it sensibly for over twenty minutes, copying the names of the countries, and dancing in her chair to the different musical sounds.

We weren’t keen: The toy is sold for the age group 3-6 years, but our two and half year old mastered it in less than 30 seconds without us having to show her how. I can’t see it still being popular with a 5 or 6 year old, unless it was being used by a younger sibling and they needed to look something up for homework.

Overall: All in all, this a good value for money educational toy, that teaches rather than preaches to a young mind. I recommend it is bought for a younger child as I believe it will be used again and again, and become a firm favourite.
