Jolly Octopus Game

My boys were on to the hardest level of Jolly Octopus within 10 minutes of playing and have not returned to it since

Buy online: Toys R Us

Initial Thoughts: The boys were very excited to get Jolly Octopus as they have seen it advertised on the television a lot recently.  It was easy to assemble straight from the box and the rules are very straight forward, so we could play this pretty much immediately.

We Liked: Jolly Octopus is a bright and colourful game which will improve hand eye co-ordination.  The boys were drawn to the bright colours and the cute little crabs.

We Weren’t Keen: This is one of the games where you have to add batteries and they do not come with the toy, which always annoys me.   The boys had soon mastered the first speed and where on to level two within ten minutes and then they didn’t want to play anymore.   Oh and the other thing is once you have added the arms the octopus will not go back in the box (but I did remove the arms after the boys had played with it OK).

Overall: Jolly Octopus didn’t hold my boys attention and although they were very excited to review it, it has not been out of the box since the first day. It will be great for younger children as it enhances their hand eye co-ordination (both my boys are experts with chopsticks).
