Baby Annabell

Squidge has never been one to play with baby dolls but Baby Annabell appears to have changed that.  The doll is just interactive enough to keep her engaged and entertained.  Those Baby Annabell people are on to something!

Initial thoughts: Upon oping the box the first thing that struck me is just how realistic the Baby Annabell doll looks.

We liked:
Baby Annabell  feels very substantial.  The clothes are well made and the doll just feels good.  Squidge loved the baby bottle- especially the “magic” milk that disappeared when you tipped the bottle.  The baby lamb was a nice touch, Squidge liked that it played a lullaby!  I will be honest when Baby Annabell on our door I didn’t jump for joy.  I had a bit of a feminist hang up when it comes to baby dolls.  One look at my daughters face as Baby Annabell coo’d and closed her eyes as she sucked on her dummy and I was a convert.  Oh and if you give her a bottle it will fall asleep!! JOY! Squidge giggled her head off at this.  Parent’s beware, if you wake a sleeping baby it will cry!!

We weren’t keen: Batteries! Batteries! Batteries! She takes 4 AA Batteries.  If you give Baby Annabell real water is will cry real tears.  I only tried this once Squidge went to sleep.  It’s a pretty neat feature but not one I wanted Squidge to know about.  I had visions of Squidge calling me for refills and water everywhere- best she not know about this feature!

Over all:
Baby Annabell is a great doll, well made and just perfect for a little person.  Squidge has never been one to play with baby dolls but Baby Annabell appears to have changed that.  The doll is just interactive enough to keep her engaged and entertained.  Those Baby Annabell people are on to something!
