Lalaloopsy doll

Lalaloopsy’s head is too big and ungainly for her wee little body.  No matter what you did with it the massive head flopped over or back.

Initial thoughts: Lalaloospy looked like a rag doll with a large plastic head and she came with her own owl.   We have a soft spot for owls so I’m not ashamed to say that was our favourite bit!

We Liked: Lala looks adorable she has button eyes and black “converse” all stars.  She is very now and hip.

We Weren’t Keen: Lalaloopsy’s head seems too big and ungainly for her body.  No matter what you did with her the massive head flopped over or back.  In the end she sat in the corner looking rather sorry for herself.   Squidge played with the doll for a while,  but she was getting more and more frustrated trying to get her to sit up and kept calling me over to help try to get her.   Sorry folks but when my kid plays with toys I expect that she do it without parental assistance, especially if it’s a doll!  If it was a baby doll then I don’t think she would have become so frustrated, but a doll that looks like a girl should be able to sit up and my 4 1/2 yr old agrees.

Overall: We really tried to to like Lalaloopsy,  really we did.   Squidge couldn’t wait to get her out of the box and play with her.  The doll really does look adorable.   The only issue we had was the massive head. It just takes over and no amount of imagination can solve the problem of the head always flopping forward.   I do feel a little mean not liking it but I have to be honest, it was all flash and didn’t live up to it’s promise.   We also found them to be a little expensive,  ranging anywhere from £19.99 to £24.99.  When you think that all she does is sit (and doesn’t even do that well) then yes, a bit expensive.
