Initial Thoughts: I thought the Little Bird Told Me Bumble Bee Activity Toy was a nicely packaged, good sized soft toy suitable for a new born. It’s colorful but not too garish, in this day and age that makes a nice change. This is one of those toys that is classified age group 0+, but really only interests children up to the age of about 1. It has lots of features aimed at stimulating a baby, much better than your average cuddly toy!

We Liked: As my little girl is now nearly 2, I tried this out on my niece who is four months old. She instantly took to it, enjoying the rattle, examining the mirrors and shaking, squashing and examining it. Her older cousin showed her how to use the pull out musical bee, at four months baby niece didn’t have the strength or dexterity to do it herself but she had a very good try!  She also liked the music which was very appropriate and mechanical, although it didn’t last for very long. It was a nice safe toy for her to play with and as it is really well made I felt confident about the quality.

We Weren’t Keen: Lovely though the bee is, it’s just not all that unusual. Baby niece has several toys from a range of retailers which are all very similar to this. We all expected the head of the bee to squash and make a noise, but it didn’t and this was a little disappointing. However, there’s not much not to like.

Overall: A really nice, good quality baby toy, perfect as a gift for a first baby. My niece loved it and her interest encouraged my toddlers to play with her with it. Thumbs up.
