The girls annual 2011 is pink and silver which scored it well with my daughter before she’d opened the cover!   Inside, the book was packed with magic tricks, things to make, puzzles, baking ideas and stories aimed at girls.

Initial thoughts: The girls annual 2011 is pink and silver which scored it well with my daughter before she’d opened the cover!   Inside, the book was packed with magic tricks, things to make, puzzles, baking ideas and stories aimed at girls.  My daughter is 7 and I felt that this was an excellent book for her age group – probably up to 10 or 12 years would enjoy this book.

We liked: My daughter was excited at the content – lovely colourful pages showing her lots of things to do and learn.  There was something for every girl – whether your girl is sporty, likes to cook, likes beauty tips and girly things or if she loves to read, it is all covered.  The words my daughter used to describe this book were “Really cool”!

We weren’t keen: I couldn’t see a downside with this book.  It has lots of fun things to interest pre teen girls, without being too ‘grown up’ for them.  Like ginger beer and escapades with the Famous Five, it’s all good clean fun!

Overall: For people who find it tough to buy for children at Christmas, this book is a winner.  If you are not sure what they are interested in, you can’t go wrong with this book.  There is a Boys’ version too which I’m sure is just as good, and priced at £7.99 it won’t break the bank!
