“There’s no such thing as too many soft toys to Flea, and these two make a refreshingly affordable addition to the cuddly mountain in our house.”

Ikea soft toysInitial thoughts: There’s no such thing as too many soft toys for Flea, who has a passion for all things soft and animal-shaped. So we were thrilled when Ikea asked us to test a selection of soft toys from their store. We received Barnslig Alg, otherwise known as ‘big orange moose’ and Fabler Groda, otherwise known as ‘small frog’.

We liked: As a parent I thought these were fantastic value for money, at around £2.50 for the frog and £4.50 for the moose toy. Although they’re affordable, these don’t seem cheap – the stitching is robust and there’s a nice attention to detail on the toys – I liked the frog’s wings, and Flea loved that the moose has removable, stripy socks.

We weren’t keen: These perhaps aren’t as plush as some of Flea’s soft toys, but they more than make up for it with their fun and attention to detail. No complaints!

Overall: Soft toys can be a costly hobby for young kids, and I shudder to think how often I’ve forked out over £10 or £15 for some ‘must-have’ puppy or rabbit for Flea’s entertainment. So I think these Ikea soft toys are affordable, cute and have lots of play value. Thoroughly recommended.

we got our pet dog from Ikea! Our previous house was too small for a real dog so I managed to con my then 3 yr old into one of the giant stuffies. His name is Buddy and he sleeps and protects Squidge while she sleeps. Best thing about an Ikea dog? No need to clean up the poop!!
