Info for PRs

Information for PRs and Toy Retailers
If you are a PR or represent a toy brand, please read the following information before contacting us.
We welcome suggestions of great new toys to test on the site, but we ask you only to submit a toy if:
- the toy is currently available to buy in the UK, either online or on the High Street.
- you have a sample of the toy available for us to review. Please note we can ONLY review items that we have seen for ourselves.
- you have photography of the product suitable for online use (image size of 150×150 or around 50k will be fine)
If you meet these criteria then please contact our editor Sally Whittle, with brief details of the toy (including a URL) and its age suitability.
We will then give you the details of the most suitable reviewer and ask you to send the sample directly to them. If you require a sample to be returned, you will need to provide paid return postage or to arrange collection for larger items. We cannot be responsible for the cost of returning samples due to the number of toys we review each month.
Our reviews are independent and reviewers will give an honest account of their experience with a toy. However, if a toy doesn’t work, breaks or appears to be faulty, we will contact you to request a replacement item for review. If you notice a factual error in any Great Toy Guide review, please contact us and we will rectify it as soon as possible.
Readership:
The Great Toy Guide has an on-site readership of 30,000 unique users per month (December 2009) although our reviewers promote reviews to their own audience, which jointly totals more than 150,000 unique users per month. All posts are fully search optimised and the Guide ranks in the top five search results on Google for many of the toys we have reviewed.
Special Features:
Throughout 2010, we will be running special review round-ups. Submitting a toy to the relevant round-up will increase its impact, as special reviews are heavily promoted. Our 2010 schedule is as follows:
FEBRUARY: BABY GIFTS AND TOYS FOR UNDER 1′S
MARCH: ARTS AND CRAFTS, INDOOR ACTIVITIES
APRIL: ETHICAL AND ECO TOYS
MAY: RIDE-ON TOYS AND GARDEN TOYS
