Snowflake is a fantastic Christmas Album which will be played again and again over the festive season. Even my mum asked who was signing the songs as she loved her voice. It is a very serene album without the normal lack of tune you often get with arrangement done for children.

This large, glossy book is filled with images from the CBeebies show Big and Small, along with words to the songs from the show. That’s not all – you also get a CD with two versions of each song – one with the original vocal, and one instrumental version, letting you and your kids sing along to the backing track.

I’ve always been interested in yoga and meditation for children, and so I was intrigued – if a little cynical – to find out about the Magical Unicorn Meditations for children CD. This is a 30-minute CD that contains two unicorn-themed meditations for children, designed to promote relaxation, calmness, and confidence. The manufacturers say this CD – which is available online through Tesco and various health and wellbeing companies – is suitable for all children, but it can particularly help children with behavioural issues or with disorders such as autism or hyperactivity.

This Usborne set features a CD of 14 Christmassy lullabies and an accompanying board book with the words for six of the tracks so you can sing along to the instrumental music with your baby.
